Campbell California is a suburb of San Jose and part of the Silicon Valley area in Santa Clara County. It's home to roughly 40,000 residents and offers an urban/suburban mix with several restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Campbell is home to the Pruneyard Shopping Center, a large, open-air retail complex that was the center of a famous US Supreme Court case that established the extent of the right to free speech in California. This area is also home to South Bay offices and the FBI.
The city got its start back in 1826 by Benjamin Campbell in 1878, Campbell sold the land to a railroad company and by 1887, the first subdivision was recorded west of the railroad from Campbell Avenue to where the Water Tower Plaza stands today. Originally known as Campbell's Place, it was renamed in 1913 to simply Campbell. In 1888, the Campbell school district was formed and it was officially incorporated as a city in 1952.
Two of the city's largest employers Fry's Electronics and the Home Depot are located in the town as well as Barracuda Networks Inc. These are the three largest employers in Campbell.

Campbell's public schools actually belong to two districts, the Campbell Union Elementary school and the Campbell Union high school and there are several elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools with in that area. The Westmont high school is home to Future Farmers of America. In total, there are 19 elementary schools, nine middle schools, three high schools, and 28 Campbell preschool schools in addition to 13 private schools. The majority of the schools rank high on greatschools.org for academics and education.
